Defense attorneys often get creative, trying any argument to help their clients avoid going to jail.
In the case of Jacques Rouschop, who has been accused in Ottawa, Canada, of sexually assaulting two women, one lawyer is getting really inventive. His attorney made the case that the man’s hernia “makes it too painful to have sex from behind, his stomach is too large, and his penis is way, way too small.” She then sent around naked pictures of Rouscoup for the jury to consider. How is this real life?

Rouschop is accused of assaulting two sex workers, both of whom testified in horrifying detail about their alleged rapes. Police also suspect him in the murder of a woman named Amy Paul, who was killed in 2013. Rouscoup and his lawyers call his indictment for rape a “witch hunt.”
Now seems like a good time to remind everyone that rape is about power, not sex, and that the size of someone’s genitals and the size of someone’s waist have nothing to do with their ability to commit the crime.
